nice water bottle with carabiner clip
wool socks (BSA has some at the Scout Shop)
one man backpacking tent
Boy Scout Uniform Cargo Pants(canvas &/or nylon)
hiking pack
wool blend jacket (go larger to have room for layers)
locking folding knife (BSA Boy Scout Knife is awesome)
hatchet with cover
rope (climbing rope-not nylon)
flint & steel on a lanyard
small sharpening stone in a case
small set of binoculars
headlamp
lantern
flashlight
ground cover or sleeping mat
summer weight sleeping bag (with stuff sack
fleece sleeping bag (to be used as a liner in other bag)
20 to 40 degree sleeping bag
any high interest books at the Scout Shop or scoutstuff.org
